About Us

Illumicycle was set-up to show visibility to cyclists and road users such as walkers, horse riders or even children playing with scooters or skateboards. We care about the safety of road users and are making available our products which give you piece of mind when travelling too and from work or just out on your leisurely activity.

Most of our cycle helmets and back-packs all have indicators on to not only show your visibility but to tell other road users where you intend to go. it is also a great learning tool for youngsters to also be aware of their surrounding areas and other road users.

Even though a helmet is not compulsory on the UK roads it is advisory and would greatly reduce the chances of a fatality when being involved in a accident.

All helmets in the UK can not be sold unless they hold the EN-1078 safety mark. All Illumicycle helmets are tested and hold the EN-1078 test report putting your mind at ease when choosing our helmets.

All illumicycle back packs and accessories are covered by the CE mark for your piece of mind.

Cycling Accidents- Facts and Figures

In 2016, 18,477 cyclists were injured in reported road accidents, including 3,499 who were killed or seriously injured.

Cyclist Casualties, 2016 1

  Child (0-15) Adult All*
Killed 8 94 102
Seriously injured 309 3,088 3,397
Slightly injured 1,664 13,314 14,978
Total 1,981 16,496 18,477

These figures only include cyclists killed or injured in road accidents that were reported to the police. Many cyclist casualties are not reported to the police, even when the cyclist is inured badly enough to be taken to hospital. The figures also exclude cycling accidents that occur away from the road. Although the number of deaths is accurate, there could be two or three times as many seriously injured cyclists and double the number of slightly injured.

Reduce your chances of being a casualty and make people aware of your presence on the road.
